Hurricane Erin Update:

Probable Impact: August 21-24

Hurricane Erin is likely to pass by the coast of Nova Scotia during this window. Although landfall is unlikely, the resulting waves are forecast to be large and powerful with tons of current. With an overload of waves from the storm, the beaches became unusable and dangerous for surfing. Martinique Beach (and all beaches) don't have large surf that is actually surfable, the waves just break way offshore and are not possible to ride. Also, the big sets of waves can be inconsistent. For example, you might show up at the beach and it could look small, then all of a sudden much larger waves may appear.
